Prov 1-3; Ro 7
If we replace the word “wisdom” in the Proverbs with the word “Jesus” we get an illustrious picture of Jesus' heart. Jesus is the perfect embodiment of wisdom. However the words of scripture come to nothing if they fall on deaf ears and are never applied. When we study the scriptures, consistently look for the heart of God, embrace it fully and live it out day by day. Sure, we will have our off days and be disappointed in our behaviour but Jesus will always welcome us back. Remember, God said, “I will never leave you or forsake you” (Deuteronomy 31:6) and he also says, “... nothing can pluck you out of my hand” (John 10:28). As Proverbs 3:5 says, “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him and he will make your paths straight”.
