1 Ki 10-11; 2 Chron 9; Ro 6
Solomon’s unlimited wealth and wisdom did not prevent him from sinning before God and so bought judgement on himself and the nation. Sin has consequences (Romans 8:23) and if we remove ourselves from under the covering of God's grace this will also have eternal consequences. It is true that God will never give up on us but we must always be ready to humble ourselves in recognition of who he is and confess our faults and sins to him in order to restore our rightful place in the grace of God.
