Genesis 20-22, Luke 8
I can see the provision of God when Abraham's servant looks for a wife for Isaac and for Jesus as he goes about proclaiming the Kingdom of God. When I am focused on honoring God and doing his will I must understand that he will provide whatever is needed.
Genesis 18-19, Psalm 3, Luke 7
These passages speak of God's deliverance from harm and death. Faith plays a major part in this. I can always hope in the the Lord to understand my situation and deliver me. I can count on Jesus to always petition on my behalf.
Genesis 15-17, Luke 6
My part in all this is simple, obey Christ and do what he says; love my enemies by doing good to them, be forgiving and non-judgemental, work with Christ and don't make assumptions. Be prayerful, count my blessings when things go wrong, when I am rejected.

Genesis 12-14, Luke 5
Abraham refused a reward from the King of Sodom because it had strings attached. Likewise Jesus did not act out of a desire for reward but shunned the adulation of the crowds. Both Abraham and Jesus trusted God and sought to honor God first. On reflecting on this, I should not do anything for praise or comfort but to honor God first in all I do.
Genesis 9-11, Luke 4
Jesus was constantly on the move, not wanting to settle anywhere and make a name for himself; unlike the Babylonians. I must be prepared to move anywhere the Spirit wants me to go and do what he wants me to do. I must not fear what I might be tempted by but to trust Jesus to cover me.
Genesis 6-8, Luke 3
The two readings shows me that Noah and Jesus obeyed God regardless of what anybody else thought. No doubt many people have conflicting attitudes about the actions of Noah and Jesus and so it is with us. However, I ought to obey God than be comforted by man. Sometimes it is better to be alone with God than seek to be justified by our own reasoning.
Genesis 3-5, Luke 2
Insignificant as I am, I have a purpose in God. Just as the family linage is described in Genesis and also in Luke I am also a part of God's family. My purpose is to glorify God and to serve him with all my heart. The linages as described gives authenticity to the plans of God. As Jesus was of the linage of King David I also have been grafted in to this linage because Jesus purchased me me through his sacrifice on the cross. My inheritance is not earthbound but, by faith, heavenly present.
Genesis 1-2, Luke 1
Believing the Word of God is paramount to faith. Because science has other explanations there is no reason to discount God's word. I was not there to witness the creation but Jesus demonstrated his authority over his creation on many occasions. A belief Christ must be accompanied with a belief in a Holy supernatural. Without this a Christian cannot have a dynamic faith.
