Habakkuk 1-3; John 8
There are many in this life who put their hope and trust in things that will not last. They probably don't care as long as it will sustain their lifestyle as long as needed. They seem surprised when the things they relied on fail and they are left broken and vulnerable. The prayer of Habakkuk 3:17 shows me the benefits of trusting God over all that the world has to offer and to find joy and strength in God beyond the pleasures of this world. Matthew 16:26 says “...what good will it be for a man if he gains the whole world yet loses his soul..” and Philippians 4:19 reminds us that ..“God will supply all your needs according to his riches in glory”.
