Isaiah 29-31; James 1
I have nothing to add to the advice James gives, in chapter 1, in applying the scriptures to my daily life. Take trials and tribulation in the spirit of joy and build perseverance. God gives wisdom to all who ask but don't doubt. Being poor and humble is higher than a rich person. A person who perseveres under trial is blessed by God with the crown of life. Temptation comes as a result of our own desire. Good and perfect gifts come from God. We should train ourselves to listen and not speak, live righteously and not in anger. Do what the Word says and not just think about it. Keep a tight reign on the tongue. Look after orphans and widows and don't be polluted by the world.
