Living righteously before God must involve an absence of judging others because when we judge, we take the place of God. There is a fine line between identifying sin in a person’s life and morally raising ourselves above that person. We are no better. We only live because Christ lives and our trust in him confirms that. We may disagree with a person’s lifestyle or choices in life but we can still refer to him as ‘friend.’ Jesus called Judas ‘friend’ as he was being betrayed in the garden. This will bring glory to God and bring freedom to our own lives.
