Ex 21-22 Ps 12 Acts 4
The law was originally given by God to enable the proper functioning of a godly community. All types of behaviour, both worthy and unworthy were covered so that the judge could administer justice properly. By the time of Jesus the law was actually being used to oppress the very people it was designed to protect. Christians today can operate in the same spirit by reverting to legalism and undo the freedom we have in Christ which was given to us as a result of Christ's sacrifice on the cross. I must always measure myself and not be quick to judge and condemn.
